Have you managed to quit smoking, only to re-start after a few weeks or months? Do you find it frustrating that you are unable to quit smoking permanently? Have you wondered why you find it so difficult to stop, yet those around you have managed to quit?
Hypnotherapy can be a powerful tool in helping to stop smoking.
There are many reasons for starting to smoke in the first place. These may include peer pressure, an increase in stress in your work or personal life, or being in uncomfortable situations. There is a psychological need to smoke, as it acts as a distraction in uncomfortable situations, and then it becomes a habit. Often underlying these needs are issues of anxiety and low self-esteem.
Hypnotherapy is able to address these issues and change beliefs into more positive ones to aid in quitting smoking. Hypnotherapy is only an aid and will only work if you are motivated to quit smoking and willing to face any issues preventing you from quitting. You will need to be prepared to make changes in areas of your life to accomplish this so that quitting becomes permanent.
Hypnotherapy may also help in any withdrawal symptoms and cravings.
The treatment programme is a 2hr long session. There is an initial free 15 min telephone consultation to assess whether Hypnotherapy would be suitable. The first part of the session consists of an assessment of your smoking habits, beliefs behind smoking, motivation and emotional issues. The "when, where and why" of the smoking pattern are looked at in depth. We will work together to come up with ways of changing these. The second half of the session involves Hypnotherapy which will address any issues discussed.
